On May 2nd, McDonald’s® Canada restaurants in Vancouver will join more than 1,400 restaurants across the country to celebrate McHappy Day.
On Wednesday May 2nd, visit any participating restaurants across the lower mainland to help make a difference in the lives of families in your community, as $1 from every Big Mac®, Happy Meal® and hot McCafé® beverage sold will go to benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charities® Canada and other local children’s charities across the country.
This year marks the 41st annual McHappy Day in Canada since its inception in 1977. The event has raised more than $67 million for both Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) in Canada, as well as hundreds of other local children’s charities.
Each year, RMHC helps to keep over 25,000 families of sick children from over 1,800 communities across Canada close to each other and to the care their child needs. With 70% of Canadians living outside of a city with a children’s hospital, the 15 Ronald McDonald Houses provide out-of-town families with a home to stay at while their child is being treated at a nearby hospital. The 16 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide a comfortable place for families to rest and recharge, right inside hospitals.
The house in Vancouver (RMHBC & Yukon) helps over 2,000 families each year, where children from all over British Columbia are able to and stay closely connected to their families while they undergo treatment.
